What are the advantages/disadvantages of setting up a Representative Office?
Advantages – There aren’t any start-up capital requirements / profit turnover requirements to hire yourself as the representative of the representative office.
You only have to show “actual performance records”. Also, if you intend to hire foreign employees, you also only have to show “actual performance records”.
Disadvantages – The activities you can undertake as the representative of a representative office in Taiwan are limited: You can’t issue invoices (Fa Piao 發票), and you won’t be able to conduct sales in Taiwan.
