What are the advantages/disadvantages of setting up a Taiwanese company (eg. A Limited Liability Company)?
Advantages – You don’t need a company set up in an overseas jurisdiction (unlike the branch office and representative office).
Disadvantages – It’s expensive to set up and run a branch office. You’ll need to contribute at least 1/3 of NTD$500,000 to hire yourself as the branch manager, and later, you’ll need to show average sales turnover of NTD$3 million average over 3 years. The amounts are even hire if you’d like to hire a foreign employee.
