Another popular option is to enrol in a part-time or full-time course at a private language institution. One well known such institution, with over 50 years of experience, is the Taipei Language Institute.

Private tuition is an alternative for those too busy to enrol in a full-time course. Tutors advertise on various ex-pat forums such as Taiwanease.com or Forumosa.com. Prices vary from around NTD$500 to NTD$1000. The skill and qualifications of private tutors also vary, so take the time to find somebody suitable.

An alternative is Language Professionals of Taiwan. Teachers of almost any language can advertise their services. I have personally used it to find a Chinese tutor and some of my English-teaching friends use it to find students.

Another possible way to quickly learn Chinese is to subscribe to one of the various Chinese podcasts. They offer great services for business people who do not have the time to go to a regular class. Commonly, a subscription includes podcast audio lessons (which you can listen to anywhere), web study tools, and live practice with teachers via Skype or something similar.
